From Canvas to the Stage

This Halloween Kevin is taking a break from the canvas in order to create art on the stage.
He'll join other members of Theatre Marvelosa as they take on a three night run performing the goth rock opera: Dead of the Night.
We're not giving away his costume just yet... but here's a hint... he'll be "walking through Soho in the rain looking for Lee Ho Fook's.
Aaawoooooo !!!!

PLEIN AIR PAINTING

Over the weekend Kevin was hired to capture the scene of a wedding reception as it was happening on Edisto Island. What resulted was nothing short of a spectacular evening for the bride & groom, their guests and Kevin himself.

Arriving before the wedding got underway, Kevin set up his easel underneath the grand branches of an old oak tree. As guests began to trickle in to the reception he began to sketch the scene... then paint it in. Within several hours the painting was complete. Capturing a special moment in time for the happy couple.

DOCUMENTING ART

By night Kevin Harrison is a painter.... but his days are spent as the Creative Director for Production Design Associates... Kevin and his crew are currently working on a documentary about the life, times, and unbelievable body of work by the artist Don ZanFagna.
ZanFagna has produced hundreds (if not thousands) of pieces of art. He was a contemporary of Andy Warhol and other artists of that time. He now lives a quiet life in the lowcountry... a life that is being documented for the world to now see. So stay tuned... production is in the works !!!!

I'd Rather Be in Paris

I'm having a great time creating a new style of painting. "I'd Rather be in Paris" represents the "happy" 50's housewife who would rather be skipping through the streets of Paris than cooking her husband's dinner.

Inspired by a trip to Italy for my 4oth birthday, I am experimenting with new ideas involving mixed media. My focus is to meld iconic color schemes with portrait imagery.

Both pieces will be part of my new collection which will debut on Friday, September 10th at the Red Sky Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina.
